Andrew Harvey is an internationally renowned religious scholar, writer, teacher, and the author of more than 40 books, including the critically acclaimed The Hope; Son of Man, and Savage Grace with Carolyn Baker. Born in south India in 1952, Harvey has devoted much of his life to studying the world's mystical traditions, including intensive study of Hinduism, Buddhism and Sufi mysticism.

Harvey's book, Sacred Activism, presents a transforming force of compassion-in-action that is born of a fusion of deep spiritual knowledge, courage, love, and passion, with wise radical action in the world. The large-scale practice of Sacred Activism, he offers, can become an essential force for preserving and healing the planet and its inhabitants.
