About the Event
Seminary of the Wild offers master teaching and deep wisdom from wild luminaries in the field of eco-spirituality. Each luminary offers a unique voice to the new story that is emerging in our world today, their keynotes and writings are woven into the curriculum of our Eco-ministry Yearlong programs and introductory online immersions.
**Celebrate with Seminary of the Wild co-founder Victoria Loorz for the release of her book, Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us into the Sacred on October 5. **
Once upon a time, humans lived in intimate relationship with nature.
Whether disillusioned by the dominant church or unfulfilled by traditional expressions of faith, many of us long for a deeper spirtuality. Victoria Loorz certainly did. Coping with an unraveling vocation, identity, and planet, Loorz turned to the wanderings of spiritual leaders and the sanctuary of the natural world, eventually cofounding the Wild Church Network and Seminary of the Wild. With an ecospiritual lens on biblical narratives and a fresh look at a community larger than our own species, Victoria will invite participants to uncover the wild roots of their faith and encourge a deepened commitment to a suffering earth by falling in love with it--and calling it church.
This webinar is a collaboration with the Wild Church Network. Victoria will share stories from her book, invite others to share stories from their wild church experiences and encourage participants to create practices of reconnection with the natural world as sacred.
Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us into the Sacred will be released October 5, 2021 but available for pre-order.
Victoria Loorz has been engaged with the integration of Spirit and Earth for over thirty years. As a writer, a pastor of indoor and wild churches, a climate activist, and an eco-spiritual director, Victoria has focused on developing spiritual practices underlying interconnections between all things as the dynamic presences of the Sacred.
