Victoria Loorz, MDiv CSD
Victoria Loorz has been engaged with the integration of Spirit and Earth for over thirty years. As a writer, a pastor of indoor and wild churches, a climate activist, and an eco-spiritual director, Victoria has focused on developing spiritual practices underlying interconnections between all things as the dynamic presences of the Sacred.
Victoria has been involved in leading spiritual formation retreats, interactive labyrinths, contemplative workshops and courses for over 25 years. Her focus has been searching for ways to invite people deeper into their true identities and from that rich and mysteriously alive place, discover a more intimate experience of God.
The process of witnessing and encouraging one another on the spiritual path has led Victoria to create a program through Stillpoint for spiritual directors, called Eco-Spiritual Direction that includes the voices of the more-than-human Others in the companioning relationship.
She and her son, Alec, founded and led a youth climate non-profit organization when Alec was 12-18 years old. Their work helped to launch the global youth movement. Once he left home for college, and the organization was stabilized with new leadership, she returned to pastoring in independent "indoor" churches. But the call of a groaning and beautiful Earth, allured her into deeper vision for religious connection that included the natural world. In 2015, Victoria launched Ojai Church of the Wild and, shortly afterwards, co-founded and led the Wild Church Network.
Her book, Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us into the Sacred will be released October 5, 2021 but is available for pre-order now.
Victoria raised two brilliant, compassionate young adults who are determined to change the world for the greater good.
